I've always loved baking. I remember the wonderful smell from the bakery I used to visit every Sunday as a child.
I love the way the house would smell when I would bake a cake for a holiday or a special occasion. Baking was a way for me to relax and to reconnect to my childhood. I had aspirations of owning a bakery since I was young.
When I was laid off from my job of 13+ years, I started to have more time to do what I love, bake. When I made my daughter's birthday cake for her 7th birthday, I received some great feedback from family and friends. Then when I won the baking contest at my current job, I got the confidence to make more cakes, cupcakes and treats. As I started to bake more and gain more feedback, Little Cake Happy began (right from my home kitchen).
I continue to run my bakery from home, while also working a full time job as a designer. It's busy these days, but I always have time to bake with that homemade touch. I continue to grow my business, and make Little Cake Happy my big dream.
